Westpac Marrickville - treating people like people.
Westpac has a long history in Marrickville - the branch opened on Illawarra Road in 1923, and for the last 90 years Westpac Marrickville has changed along with the Marrickville community.
“Marrickville has the most amazing community feel, I love its diversity and the distinct character and style,” says Branch Manager, Peta Cruickshank. “Where else would you find such a mix of cultures, businesses, long term locals and new residents that are all so proud to be part of this community?”
Westpac’s goal is that customers have all their business with Westpac, and recommend Westpac to family and friends. Westpac wants customers to be delighted by the service and relationship they have with the local branch.
“All of my team live the Inner West,” says Peta, “and I am extremely fortunate to work with such a fantastic group of people who really enjoy coming to work every day, and genuinely care about their customers. My team are as diverse as the Marrickville community, but the one thing we have in common is our vision for the Marrickville Branch.”
At Westpac Marrickville, staff know that banking is all about customers, and that people want to talk to real people that know and understand them, and care about their individual needs. Banking is not about “one size fits” all approach. Westpac Marrickville aims to make things easier for customers, with less red tape and more common sense.
“Passion for the Marrickville community was an essential prerequisite for the job as bank manager,” explains Peta, “and I was drawn to the job because it was about localising our brand. My role is really like any other business owner - the more I help our customers grow, the more my business grows.”
Westpac Marrickville adds value to the Marrickville community by building relationships with customers, providing professional financial advice, and understanding their personal and business needs. Westpac Marrickville staff want to help customers make the right decisions for their financial future - whether it’s personal or business banking.
“I think Marrickville is the best place to live”, says Peta, “and a great place to do business - I’ve lived in the local area for over 30 years and can’t imagine living anywhere else!”
