This is probably one of the coolest places ever! It is definitely up there with the coolest in Campbelltown!
Campbelltown City Council's Bicycle Education and Road Safety Centre is the most awesome place! It is not only great fun for the kids; it is also a really great opportunity to teach the kids road safety from a very early age.
With real working traffic lights, round-a-bouts, stop signs and pedestrian crossings, it really is a purpose-built circuit that simulates real road conditions. There is a junior track for toddlers, under cover climbing equipment, a picnic area and lots of trees to put the picnic blanket down and make a great day of it.
Bikes and scooters are welcome on the track but it is a condition that kids wear their safety helmets - no helmet, no ride! Skateboards, ripstiks, rollerskates, rollerblades, green machines and powerwings are not permitted.
Council's Bicycle Education adn Road Safety Centre is open all school holidays (except Saturdays and in wet weather) from 10am to 3pm and is completely free!
During this school holidays the centre will feature a jumping castle each Wednesday and a sausage sizzle on Fridays from 12 noon to 2pm.
This is truly a great free day out for the kids, with loads of room for picnicing and plenty of shade to put the blanket down; this centre is a real asset to the Campbelltown region!
We have tried to capture the fun and essence of the centre via our photo's here but you really have to see it and enjoy if for yourself!
The centre is located at the end of King Street in the far right corner of the car park. There is plenty of parking available.
Happy and safe riding everyone!
